Eat, drink, and be Madison!
The Isthmus Food & Wine Festival returns to the Alliant Energy Center-Exhibition Hall over the weekend of Friday-Saturday, October 18-19. This second annual edition of the festival connects guests with an amazing range of food and drink through exhibits, demonstrations, shopping and sampling -- all with the quirky, enjoyable touch that makes Isthmus unique.
The fest features the finest regional food and drink, much of it produced right here in Wisconsin, as well as wines from across the country and around the world. It's set up as a two-day marketplace highlighting products both new and familiar, and serves as a delicious learning experience, with plenty of sampling to satisfy any and all palates.
This year, Isthmus will be showcasing a number of exciting attractions and demonstrations. We are proud to announce Metcalfe's Cut!, a holiday sides recipe competition for home cooks! Finalists will be chosen to prepare their favorite holiday dishes on-stage at the event. Each will be supplied with a basket of ingredients courtesy of Metcalfe's Market. The audience will sample the final dishes at the festival and, along with a panel of local foodies, vote for their favorites. Prizes include Metcalfe's gift cards and tickets to the Saturday session of the fest.
Tickets are available for one or both days of the festival. For tickets purchased in advance, a single-day pass is $40 and a two-day pass is $65, with both options including admission and a commemorative wine glass.
The Isthmus Food & Wine Festival runs from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, October 18 and 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, October 19. Attendees must be 21 years old or older to enter. Proper identification is required. More updates on the festival and ticket sales will be provided at isthmusfoodandwine.com, as well as in Isthmus newspaper and on the event's Facebook page.
Isthmus has been at the forefront of the modern food movement for more than three decades; the highest quality food and drink is in our DNA. This festival builds on that trademark Isthmus journalism -- real restaurant reviews and reliable food news, columnists and recipes showcasing seasonal ingredients, local food and dining culture, and the rise of celebrated local chefs and bartenders.
