We've been watching the forecasts closely through the week, hoping that the skies would remain clear for Madison's Favorite Block Party on Saturday, August 18. Unsurprisingly, though, the rain started falling less than an hour ago, and is expected to continue through much of the day and night into Sunday, necessitating a change in plans for our annual summer gathering tonight.
Due to forecasts of rain tonight, including a Flash Flood Watch that includes Dane County, the 2007 edition of Madison's Favorite Block Party is moving indoors tonight.
Rather than taking over the 100 block of East Main Street, we will be partying at the downtown Great Dane on 123 East Doty Street, a mere block down King Street. You will still be able to catch the Taste of Main Street food specials at the new Argus, The Local Tavern, Maduro and Restaurant Muramoto, though.
Over at the Dane, the free fun starts at 7 p.m. There will still be a sneek peek at the Madison's Favorite winners, to be unveiled in the Isthmus Annual Manual on August 23. There will also be music by Pupy Costello & His Big City Honky Tonk and Kali Kalor, so don't miss the fun!
