Where in Madison can one see Teletubbies, superheroes, Rockford Peaches, lumberjacks and SpongeBob SquarePants all in one place? At Isthmus Paddle & Portage, of course!
Hundreds of people participated in the 35th annual race, held on Saturday, July 19, and many sported all manner of costumes. Spectators gathered by the starting line at James Madison Park, along the portage route at the Dane County Farmers' Market on Capitol Square, and facing the finish line at Olin Park were treated to a display of sartorial inventiveness rivaled only by Halloween.
