Going red for February
Today's image is titled "Going red for February" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
As has been the case in previous years, the Capitol dome in the heart of Madison was illuminated red on Thursday. This was the first of five nights of cardinal lighting on the white granite of the landmark, sponsored by the conducted closer to Valentine's Day, but was timed this year in conjunction with today's Wear Red Day, another heart health awareness event organized by the AHA's lighting on the Empire State Building in New York, for example, but these displays are now a regular element of this city's visual landscape. Here's to more in the future.
