Most of the 18,000-plus people who seated inside the arena, though, had a much different perspective, with the best close-up view of Obama afforded by the four-sided video scoreboard hanging from the roof. Otherwise, the candidate appeared as a tiny figure surrounded by a sea of people. This is the view that can be seen in this photo by Ziemendorf, along with many others taken by attendees at the rally.

These include a writes, noting her support of the candidate and "the palpable excitement amidst the falling snow."
Another photo was shot by John Zuehlke. "I wanted to experience first-hand what it was like to hear Obama speak, and he didn't disappoint despite the fact that he was visibly tired," he writes of the rally. "I also know that he has one hell of mess to clean up on many fronts, but I just truly believe he will be a president like no other."
