Down, but not out
Today's image is titled Down, but not out and was photographed by Nataraj Hauser.
"What's six or seven inches of snow to a powerhouse like a crocus?" asks Hauser in the caption to this photo. The Madison area received nearly eight inches of snow on Friday evening, followed by another dusting on Sunday, together bringing the total snowfall for the winter above the 100 inch mark, an unprecedented level in recorded meteorological history for the region. But spring is here, as evidenced in these blossoms. "These guys generated enough internal heat to melt a hole right through the snow and bloom anyway," he notes. Before too long, all that snow will merely be a memory.
