Today's image is titled "Leaves litter" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
Early casualties of the autumn season are already coating streets, sidewalks, and lawns, including stretch of West Gorham Street in downtown Madison. This first round of leaf litter is making for a spate of raking and bagging, and there's plenty more on the way. The Fall Color Report from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism reports that leaves in Dane County are only 25-50% of peak, with two weeks projected until maximum foliage brilliance.
