Get out and vote
Today's image is titled "Get out and early vote" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
The City-County Building in downtown Madison has been buzzing all week long with a steady stream of early voters, casting absentee ballots to beat the rush on Election Day come November 4. There has been a strong push on the part of both presidential campaigns on behalf of early voting in Wisconsin, but the efforts on behalf of Barack Obama have been most visible, with John Kerry holding a rally at the Capitol Square on Wednesday to encourage the process.
Despite the excitement about the election, particularly here in Madison with its strong support for the Obama/Biden ticket, the scene at the Madison City Clerk's office seen in this photo is fairly low-key, with signs posted to discourage voters from electioneering and a market atmosphere of getting in and out amongst those casting their ballots. Here's to higher turnout.
