Today's image is titled can we be tired of all this ice and snow? and was photographed by Kandy Watson.
And the answer to this question is... "Yes We Can!" The frozen surface of Lake Mendota has been the site numerous displays over many a winter, the most famous of course when a faux-immersed State of Liberty was planted on the ice in 1978, disappearing quickly before making a brief return in 1996. This photo shows the latest scene in front of the UW Memorial Union, an oversized declaration of Barack Obama's best-known campaign slogan. As noted by Watson, though, it also answers another question on this extra day of the final full month of winter.
"My vote is going to the person who can built a weather machine, and put term limits on all this snow we're having!" declares Watson, as the official snowfall total for the season in Madison is now poised to top the 90 inch mark.
