Isthmus will be taking over the 100 block of East Main Street on Saturday night for the 2008 edition of Madison's Favorite Block Party. Starting at 7 p.m. and running through midnight, the party provides a sneak peek at the winners of the Madison's Favorites readers' poll, which will be officially announced in the Isthmus Annual Manual on Thursday, August 21.
This free outdoor party begins with mingling on the sidewalks and street, with drinks and eats provided by The Argus, The Local Tavern, Casbah, Maduro, and of course, plenty of Madison's Favorite Brew of the year. The fun will really get going with music from two of Madison's favorite bands -- Reptile Palace Orchestra and Houses in Motion -- who will be taking the stage at the corner of King and Main just off Capitol Square.
Nearby street parking is available along with spaces in the Brayton, Government East and Capital Square North city parking ramps. For a look at the fun in 2005 and 2006, there are dozens of photos available for viewing.
Madison's Favorite Block Party is sponsored by Isthmus.
