Today's image is titled Merrimac Ice and was photographed by Loren Zemlicka.
Lakes, ponds, streams and rivers throughout the region are in the process of freezing over, starting with the smallest rivulets and puddles and working up in size from there. Shot in late November, this photo shows a skim of ice forming along the western shores of Lake Wisconsin, where the Merrimac Ferry crosses the Wisconsin River.
