Still digging out from the snows that fell earlier this week, or despairing of the storms that are assuredly on their way this winter? Here's a story that accompanies this photo of a man making use of a snowblower for the first of many times through the season.
Taking a walk during the recent storm, McConnell saw a group of kids trying to dig out a "small picka-me-up truck from its very stuck place," which just happened to be right next to a full-sized version. "I think it's funny that when you (sweetly) ask even the crabbiest big truck owner to help get a car unstuck, no matter how crabby the guy might be, when it is explained to him that the stuck vehicle is this close to his own vehicle he knows it would be in his own best interest to help," she recalls. "After 10 or 15 minutes they were hauling off down the street and formerly crabby big truck guy said he's awfully glad he got the 4x4 installed."
The moral of this story is simple: consider helping your neighbor move their snow, or at least a hot drink. "Winter causes all kinds of troubles," McConnell concludes, "but the opportunities to grow some good karma are endless during the snowy months."
