Raking the Roof
Today's image is titled Raking the Roof was photographed by Nataraj Hauser.
"Madisonians spent Friday and Saturday digging out from under the 12" snowfall," notes Hauser in the caption to the photo. "While most streets were passable before noon on Friday, a second snowfall on Saturday did not help. Neither did Sunday's bitter sub-zero temperatures and howling wind. Oh yeah, winter is definitely here!"
Indeed, the second serious winter storm of the season dumped some 9.3 to 12.5 inches of snow in various locales across Dane County, not to mention much of the rest of the state. That was only the first part of a pre-holiday double-whammy, though. Round two has already started, with light snow starting in the early morning hours as a Winter Weather Advisory went into effect across southern Wisconsin. Over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday, this latest storm is forecast to drop up to another foot across the region. Though winter only officially started on Sunday, the season is certainly no stranger.
