Yahara River from Willy Street
Today's image is titled Yahara River from Willy Street was photographed by Nataraj Hauser.
The Christmas snows have made for a plethora of picturesque settings throughout Madison, including along the isthmus course of the Yahara River where ducks and other waterfowl congregate around patches of cold but open water.
"Everywhere one looked, every thing was draped with snow, painting them with elegance and beauty," notes Hauser in the caption of the photo. "I almost suffered from being overwhelmed in this 'target rich' environment, finding everything worth photographing and so not photographing anything. Fortunately I got over it long enough to take this one."
Rain and a brief spell of warmer temperatures will wash away much of the winter splendor, but there's little doubt plenty more is on the way.
