Today's image is titled Mr. President was photographed by Anna Clayton.
People gathered together in just about every location with a television on Tuesday morning to watch the Inauguration of Barack Obama, from schools to workplaces to and taverns. This photo shows a crowd gathering in the main cafeteria at the Truax campus of the Madison Area Technical College to watch this historic moment. "There were TVs in several locations, but that's where the biggest crowd was." notes Clayton. "The whole room kept bursting out in applause."
Plenty of other locations were filled with similar crowds, with local photographers capturing images of the gatherings at Electronic Theatre Controls in Middleton (here) and at The Old Fashioned on the Capitol Square (here). No matter where one was around Madison, not to mention across the rest of the country, there was intense interest and excitement in this historic inauguration of the new president.
