Rush Limbaugh

Forum revolved around personal attacks this week, as forons beared their claws at everyone from Madison police to pop culture princesses and right-wing rogues. Hey, at least we didn't bitch about the weather.

The NRA's feeling the recession too.

Re: Gun Sales at an all time high! Post by nevermore Sat Feb 28, 2009 7:37 am

Has it ever occurred to anybody that the reason gun sales are at an all-time high is that things are so dismal for members of a party suffering sub-Bush popularity and running out of pooches to screw that they're buying the guns to use on themselves?

Michael Phelps was just in the wrong place in the wrong time.

We pot smokers owe Officer Carrie Hemming a debt of gratitude. Her actions clarified Madison Police Policy regarding marijuana and I am happy about that.

Everybody must be held accountable under the same set of rules no matter what status you hold politically. Now we know what these rules are regarding smoking goon gas. This is a good thing. Makes me more comfortable when I smoke my weed.

I may or may not be a hypocrite. That's for others to decide and since I really don't care what others think about me it's kind of a dead pony for you to keep pointing it out.

Why didn't you come up and introduce yourself to me at the NORML benefit. I would love to meet you and discuss these thing in real life with you.

Hanah Jon Taylor played great don't you think? Had a great time at the NORML benefit.

Yes, we have seen the pictures!

Er... you haven't got it. Making fun on (on?) someone's attire is fair game if that person, who has what we can assume is a pretty decent clothes budget, is wearing that ridiculous pair of mom jeans.

Sharp and smart

Not everyone could talk to Nixon like that.

I spent part of my early teen years in a sleepy southeast Wisconsin town. My folks listened to WLS Chicago on early mornings. I can still remember him saying, "Mr.President, I love you, but you're wrong."

Karma's a bitch: Britney's tour didn't sell either.

Fuck you, Leonard Cohen

I love Mr. Cohen's music and he's undoubtedly the one songwriter of our time on par with Bob Dylan. So it was pretty exciting to see he's touring and playing at the Paramount Theatre here in the Bay Area. But a click-through to Ticketmaster informs one that the great man is demanding $550 per ticket.

Are you fucking kidding me? How can someone who writes with such compassion be such a dick - when people are losing their jobs, their healthcare etc - as to ask for a month's rent from a couple who may want to go see him?

From a capitalist perspective, I guess he's just charging "what the market will bear." But it's bizarre for a dude like that to be performing in a hall filled with the same demographic as an RNC fundraiser.

"The rich get rich, the poor stay poor, that's how it goes," indeed...
[/end rant]

I don't trust anything from AM radio hosts anyway.

How out of touch is Limbaugh?

Limbaugh also backed up comments he made earlier this year in which he said he hoped Obama failed.

"What is so strange about being honest and saying I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and re-form this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation?" he said.

But a top Republican in Congress disagreed.

"I don't think anyone wants anything to fail right now," House Republican Whip Eric Cantor said on ABC's "This Week." "We have such challenges. What we need to do is we need to put forth solutions to the problems that real families are facing today."

Is the multi-millionaire radio host really THAT out of touch what is going on with average Americans right now? It would appear so.

Solutions - not Limbaugh's game.

If worst comes to worst, we could all move into Ogg Hall.

Eckes could have come out of this with just a four-figure claim against his liability insurance by offering Peterson replacement or fair market value for his possessions. Instead, in true Madison landlord fashion, he pulled a lowball number out of his ass and is now going to end up paying a lot more in damages and legal fees.

And to think it could have been avoided if the maintenance guy had used his brain for one second, and called to confirm the address.

Cases like this make me feel bad for Nancy Jensen at the Apartment Association. Her job would be easier if it weren't for her members.
