Voting opened last Thursday for the Madison's Favorites poll, the annual Isthmus survey on your favorite people, places and things around Madison -- and a few of your unfavorites, too.
Nothing is forever! And for those of you who have gotten used to some of our tried and true poll categories, you might miss 'em this year, because we've switched a few things around. Change with the changing times, that's us. Who knows what we'll find out? (Who Madison's favorite local author is, for one. And that includes poets!) Other new categories include favorite Pub Trivia Night, Place to go When You're Down to your Last Five Bucks, and Favorite Local Chef.
The polls will remain open for Madison's Favorites for one more week, closing at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 21. Obviously, if you're reading this, you're already online, so be a love, won't you, and register and vote online as well; it makes it easier for us to count (and you'll save a hapless intern from having to input your data). All ballots, whether paper or virtual, are due at the same time.
To be valid, ballots must have at least 20 categories filled in. Your responses will be tallied with great scrutiny after the polls close, and the winners will be published in the Annual Manual on August 26.
As a thank-you for voting for Madison's Favorites, you're invited to the Madison's Favorite Block Party on Thursday, August 19 along East Main Street, where we'll be humming along to the musical stylings of Mighty Short Bus.
