OK Go to perform at Freakfest 2010 on Oct. 30

The publicist for OK Go confirms that the Grammy-winning rock band will play at Madison's Freakfest on Saturday, Oct. 30. The official announcement for other acts playing at the city's low-cost Halloween event will come on Sept. 27.

Known for its striking videos, OK Go is on tour with its new album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky. The band will premiere the video for its single "White Knuckles" on Sept. 20 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and perform later that day on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In customary OK Go fashion, the "White Knuckles" video was filmed in one continuous shot.

Of the Blue Colour of the Sky debuted in the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 earlier this year. On Nov. 2, the band will release Of the Blue Colour of the Sky Extra Nice Edition, featuring a second disc with alternative versions, demos, and covers of the Pixies' "Gigantic" and the Zombies' "This Will Be Our Year."

So far in 2010, OK Go has received a Special Achievement Award at the Webby Awards, the Audience Choice Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and two awards at the World Music and Independent Film Festival. It claims to be the most downloaded band in history.
