77th Assembly district debate tonight!
on (22) Comments

If there weren't a baseball game very close to my heart, I would be in the front row watching the debate between Brett Hulsey, Ben Manski, David Redick and Constitution Party candidate David Olson. But those of you who aren't emotionally invested in the fate of the Philadelphia Phillies SHOULD GO. More news on the 77th race:

The Hulsey campaign released a poll today which shows the Democrat crushing all opponents in the race. Hulsey leads the pack with 63 percent, followed by the Green Party's Ben Manski at 13 percent, and the GOP's David Reddick at 11 percent. The poll, conducted by Premiere Political Communications, a D.C.-based firm that works for Democratic candidates all around the country, contacted 3,700 randomly selected numbers and got responses from 10 percent of those called. That yields a margin of error of 4.5 percent. Premiere's director, Ron Schneider, confirmed he was responsible for the poll.

Nevertheless, Manski has expressed optimism that his campaign is building support, emboldened by the recent endorsement of the Teaching Assistants Association (TAs) as well as the support of high-profile progressives such as former Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager and former Democratic Assembly candidate Fred Wade, who lost to Hulsey in the primary last month. Perhaps more importantly, as Dan points out below, the Cap Times has endorsed Manski.
