Live blog: President Obama and Bruce Springsteen rally in Madison on Election Eve

President Barack Obama returns to Madison for the second time in a month on Monday, when he holds one of his final rallies of the campaign in the heart of the city. The president will be joined on stage by Bruce Springsteen, both making their final pitches for reelection on the eve of Election Day.

City workers, law enforcement, and campaign staff spent the weekend preparing for the rally, which will be held along the length of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. between the Wisconsin Capitol and Monona Terrace. The stage will be located at the front entrance to the City-County Building, but the entrance area for the public is located across the Square, at the corner of State and Mifflin streets. Multiple streets are closed around downtown, and traffic through the isthmus is expected to be thick all morning.

Obama last campaigned in town on October 5, when he held a rally at Bascom Hill at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus on the morning after his first debate with Republican candidate Mitt Romney. It will be the president's third event in Wisconsin in five days, with previous rallies held in Green Bay on Thursday and Milwaukee on Saturday. The Monday rally will be Bruce Springsteen's second in the city, as he previously performed with John Kerry in 2004.
