Today's image is titled fields of gold and was photographed by Beth McConnell.
As implied in the title, this photo depicts farm fields in south-central Wisconsin at the heart of autumn. Maple leaves are turning to spectacular oranges and reds, while the harvested fields settle down to their winter nap. This kind of scene will pass quickly though, as autumn lengthens; the first snow of the season may be arriving as soon as tomorrow.
