Madison punk-metal trio The Skintones sound burlier than ever on their new album for the Crustacean label This Is Science.
They also demonstrate they're not just power-meisters by including "Down South," a greasy spoonful of convincing rural blues on which they eviscerate the atavistic, grits-n-gravy way of being that still passes for Suthin' style in some parts.
Special bonus: local harp man Mr. Blues makes the most of his guest spot, blowing some particularly soulful harmonica.
