Today's image is titled picnic point and was photographed by Ralph Grunewald.
Grunewald writes: "The pier, this time with Picnic Point in the background. Picnic Point is a mile long peninsula along the lake's south shore. It is a popular spot for outings." Though this photo was taken in late November 2006, Lake Mendota remains unfrozen, and will likely surpass its second latest freezing date in the last century-and-a-half.
