Voting opened last Thursday for the Madison's Favorites poll, the annual Isthmus survey on your favorite people, places and things around Madison -- and a few of your pet peeves.
As in previous years, there are just under 100 favorites -- 96 to be exact -- arrayed in seven broad categories. These are: Arts & Entertainment, Eats, Drinks, Shopping, Recreation & Fitness, Multimedia, and Odds & Ends. There are a few changes in every category, with the most to be found in the final set of seven. The options found in Odds & Ends turns over for the most part every year, including this go-around.
The polls will remain open for Madison's Favorites for one more week, closing at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. While we implore you to cast your ballot online -- really, it makes the votes sooo much easier to count -- you can also submit a paper version that can be found in this week's new edition of Isthmus. The same deadline holds in this case too, though, at the end of business hours one week from today.
To be valid, ballots must have at least 20 categories filled in, with the paper version requiring a signature. Online, the voting process is automated and you are required to register to vote.
Your responses will be tallied after the polls close, and the winners will be published in the Annual Manual at the end of the summer. As a thank-you for voting for Madison's Favorites, you're invited to Madison's Favorite Block Party on Saturday, Aug. 18, where we will preview some of the winners.
Remember, you are the Decider!
