Today's image shows the vast open-air bicycle parking lot at Ironman Wisconsin 2007 and was photographed by Kandy Watson.
Titled "where'd I put mine?' the photo shows hundreds of bicycles parked on the rooftop lot behind Monona Terrace at the close of the Ironman Wisconsin triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 9. "Weren't we voted the #1 biking city in the US this past year?" asks Watson in a description for the image. "I don't believe this has anything to do with the Ironman competition. I honestly don't know why they picked Madison, or its history here. I think we won the opportunity to hold the event by promoting it with the motto 'Madison -- As good a city as any!'"
Watson shot several more photos from the Ironman competition, joining many others who wanted to share one of the biggest athletic events in the city. Others include Nathan Berg (here), Joel Irvin (here) and Lee Davenport (here), along with several others (here, here, here, and here). More photos can also be found at the Wisconsin Ironman Flickr pool.
