This major exhibition features a richly textured treasure trove of sculptures and curiosities, in four rooms, that represent the world of artist Natasha Nicholson. Using “oddities,” including beads, necklaces, fabrics and a wide collection of ethnic adornments, the artist invites us into her “studios,” the living spaces she has transformed through a poetic and autobiographical reimagining of the relationships between objects and viewers.
MMoCA Nights Saturday, October 10 · 6–9 pm EVENT
Gather your friends for this MMoCA Nights event and share an evening both lively and inspiring. James, Thomas E.A. Dale, and Joseph R. Goldyne. This unusual yet inviting installation will encourage museum attendees to consider the process of artistic creation, while providing a view into the artist’s life and career. The genre-blending sounds of Trap Saturn will fill the lobby as guests enjoy passed appetizers from Fresco. The evenings feature live music, complimentary seasonal hors d’oeuvres from Fresco, a cash bar, and engaging visual art programs. The evenings are free for MMoCA members/$10 for non-members.
