608, a new restaurant and bar slated for 212 State Street, the former location of Paul's Club, is back on the agenda, held over from last month's meeting.
Underground Butcher, the artisan butcher shop that also sells a select menu of sandwiches and sides, is seeking a class A liquor and class A beer license. In documents filed with the city, partners Jonny and Ben Hunter and Melinda Trudeau state the intention to sell "small production bottled beer and wine."
Marrakesh Restaurant is a new Moroccan restaurant slated for 5510 University Ave., in the former Shish Cafe. In documents filed with the city, owner/chef Youssef Amraoui describes Marrakesh as a fine dining restaurant that will be open for lunch and dinner, and will also feature belly dancing.
The sample menu features a wide selection of Middle Eastern dishes, including bastilla, kebabs, grilled sandwiches, tagines, and couscous.
The anticipated opening date is listed as January 15, 2013.
The Tap Room is a new venture slated for the club house at Hawk's Landing golf course, which has seen a number of operations including Klubhouse Restaurant and Bar and the Sunset Grille. Owners Adam Greenberg and Timothy Thompson are involved with other local eateries (Thompson with the Free House Pub in Middleton; Greenberg with City Bar, in Madison).
In documents filed with the city, Greenberg and Thompson describe a breakfast, lunch and dinner spot with 50% of revenue coming from food, the rest from alcohol sales.
