Cheap Lunch

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

Cheap Lunch

Postby iwiw99 » Fri Mar 04, 2011 9:02 am

I know I should pack my own more often but don't

What do people like for under 5 bucks.

Fraboni sm sandwich and pop $ 4.00
Bagels Forever = Egg, cheese, sausage and pop $ 2.90 (breakfast)
Whole - Sandwich and Zevia $ 5.04 - can steal 4 pennies usually
Costco Pizza and pop $ 2.82
Rossatis slice and pop $ 4.04 plus tip = $ 5.00
JSM Meatloaf sandwich and 16 oz Faygo ~$ 4.25
Ians slice and pop $ 4.50 but you are shamed into giving the 50 cent piece back so
$ 5.00

Those are my regulars. Any other ideas?

I am longing for the La Bamba cart to arrive back in front of the Geography building. A "mini" burrito and a can of soda for $5.

Para comer La Bamba, se necesita una poca de borrachera.

If you're on the east side, Gus' Diner on Hwy 19 between Sun Prairie and Token Creek. One Trip Salad Bar (One trip consists of one large plate plus a small plate) and a cup/bowl of soup for $4.99. Soups are home made and usually three to choose from and salad bar is always fresh.

Funny you mention this. I just noticed the cover of Madison Magazine, who defines "cheap eats" as under $25. Seriously?

ya, I had a good laugh at that one too! I might agree with a $15 cutoff if you are talking about dinner, but even that is not "cheap". $25 will buy a lot of M&Ms.

Mad Dog's or FIB's. Not healthy at all, but decently filling hot dogs/sausages/Italian beef sandwiches for under $5.
