Blair Street Brew & BBQ

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

Jones says he's not sure what happened with the previous incarnation of the business, which closed in late October before the brewing operation ever kicked in. Jones will be using the pink, pig-decorated VW Bug for delivery; it came with the restaurant.

When buying a failed restaurant, I would think it would be VERY helpful to know why it failed. Maybe he's just being deferentially polite.

Let me say this about that. I only have 93 posts to 3800.
Oh, shit, make that 92. Whatever. Still more interesting than past, present, and future failures at this location. Thank you for playing!

Well, they weren't open on Monday. And you should see the number of phone numbers out there for them. Don't call the number on Yelp. It's his cell phone number. I think the correct one is the 1000 number but no answering machine on that one.

I road past there on the bus yesterday and saw the open sign with people sitting at the bar area.

Probably a good idea, but their FB page lists a different number:

The website was where I got the 251-1000 number. It was a ring no answer. I kept trying because I really wanted to go there on Monday. Chef DJ was very nice when I got him on his cell phone but probable not the best number to call. :D It would be nice if they had some type of message on the website line.

Stopped in for lunch last week. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, which was pretty good. The bun was lightly toasted, and the pork was mixed in with sauce, in contrast to, say, Smoky Jon's, where it is served dry.

My friends got the rib tips. I don't think they thought they were bad, but they didn't look all that tender either.

The biggest problem was the service. Unfortunately it seems like something rubbed off from Full of Bull. We waited what seemed like quite a while for our food, and after more wait for our checks, there was apparently some issue getting us all rung up. On the upside our waitress was very friendly, but it definitely isn't some place you can go for a quick bite, at least not yet.

We'll probably head back at some point, but we aren't going to rush back.

Been there twice since the changes, not impressed. I did not think the original Blair St bbq would last long, don't have much hope for this incarnation either.

Just opened a cart on campus. Had the pulled pork which was pretty good and some decent mac and cheese. Not the best pork I've had but solid enough that I'll keep going back.
