Bars w/ Wireless

Postby jjoyce » Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:31 am

I require a place where I can ideally watch NCAA basketball, drink and eat decent food... and have access to the Web without paying for a whack Mad City Broadband account.

Anyone?

According to this site, Babe's has the wifi. I'd go for Babe's.

The Memorial Union would have everything you require - except, perhaps, the food part.

Not sure if you can access the wireless without a Net ID, however.

Church Key
High Noon's got wireless, which might leak over to Brass Ring
Is there wireless at The City?

The Brass Ring also has wireless, as does Lucky's.

The Local, Genna's, Maduro and Brocach all have wireless. At least they are close to the office, if that makes a difference. Not sure about the quality of the TV or game coverage.

I was at the Great Dane on the Square over the weekend, and they had WiFi that was speedy even on an iPod Touch.

Having my iPhone I've noticed there is free WiFi almost everywhere I go. In a lot of cases the WiFi wasn't intended to be free but was never set up to block unknown users.

I've found a lot of sports bars have wireless, at least here in the sticks, and in Phoenix when I went back last fall. A night's worth of Shipyard Prelude for anyone who can tell me why (you gotta come out here to collect though).

Not for a nanosecond have I ever had the urge to take a computer to a bar where there's drunks spilling beer all over the place.

Especially since I tend to spill beer all over the place.

Hey, there's a product idea for Steve Jobs!
Macbook Alco:
Horrifically de-featured, but with liquid-proof keyboard and breath-a-lyzer. Only $3799.
