Central Waters La Petite Mort

Postby Drinkslinger » Tue Jul 24, 2012 3:09 pm

Central Waters has released a new 750ml bomber called “La Pettite Mort.” This is only the third time they have done this, with the 1st being “Exodus”. The second, “1414” was only available at the brewery.

La Petite Mort is a Belgian inspired Weissenbock brewed as collaboration between The Local Option and Central Waters. La Petite Mort - a Belgian inspired Weissenbock – maintains the traditional characteristics of its Bavarian forbearer, with the added complexity of Belgian ale yeast. La Petite Mort is dark amber in color; maintains a rich, full-bodied mouth-feel augmented by caramel; mild and dark fruit. (taken from Beer Advocate). 9% ABV.

I haven’t tasted it yet (tonight), but it is extremely rare. Only 1,200 bottles were made. Please post on here if you have tasted it yet and what you think. Look for it at your friendly neighborhood liquor store.

Cheers!

I just learn La Petite Mort is french for "the little death," a euphemism for an orgasm....

I managed to get the last bottle from Steve's when it was released and finally drank it this week. It's very, very good. Rich and dark and bourbony. It's available at the Great Taste on Saturday and I'd recommend it for any fans of bourbon barrel aged beers who don't want just another stout.

Will they be bombers again? How much are they? I'm a hophead mostly but I like a lot of other styles as well if they're well made.
