I want to register a new DPF persona and be the most kindest liberalest puppies-and-sunshine poster ever. My name will be Klansman von Hitler.

One of the more disturbing aspects of YWNG (et al) is that his postings seem to be his Saturday night entertainment. I mean, I know some people complain that there's nothing to do around here on a Saturday night that doesn't involve partying, but to spend the night posting furiously about 'liberals and hippies', geez.

Last Friday night included 25 posts as YWNG alone over a twelve hour period from 3:24pm until 3:27am.

So what (legally prescribed) medication is YWNG on, that she doesn't sleep at night?

Sock puppets suck and rarely add anything to the discourse. It makes me think that our social service budget needs to be increased to deal with the mental health issues of people who actually spend their time posting under multiple personae.

We can just consolidate these into one user?

DUMPY

I got the U from the common denominator of "Unemployed".

Yeah, I had some time on my hands, but it is sunday.

If you really want to twist him off, keep referring to him as madisonrealist. He'll slit his wrists.

How about not referring to him at all?

That would be a step in the right direction.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If the Isthmus fears being too heavy handed or that they'll be accused of stifling dissent, so be it. You've got a community of posters and advertisers to think about and while you may like to think of TDPF as a marketplace for all ideas, it's more than clear that certain posters aren't interested in discussions. They come to TDPF to be disruptive and brew some anger. They aren't forons, they're trolls, and showing them the door may feel awkward, but I suspect they're used to it.

I know we've lost some good posters to the playground mentality that these trolls create, and I think it's a shame that it's tolerated.
