Hi, my name is Bryan Cranston (firstname.lastname@example.org
I am one of five grad students at MIT that have been working on a version of AI that learns and evolves within a random group dynamic.
We met Blunt at a conference featuring William Irwin Thompson (Coming Into Being
) and thought it would be fun to apply our new program to his persona on this local message board.
Basically, there have been 3 parts to blunt
, the human that some of you may know;
, the program that mimics ego by reacting to attention/neglect (recall that blunt's most eloquent and scathing posts were those in response to Sideshow Bob's obsession, while the pathetic posts are triggered by its perception of being ignored);
, who is also lives in Madison and looks like Blunt's identical twin-- and has fooled a number of people though they are never seen together("Space" seems to only be around when "Blunt" isn't, or disappears immediately after "Blunt's" arrival).
"Bio-blunt" is resonsible for the original observational posts, which "Space" would often contradict.
"Beta-blunt" posts the reactions and knee-jerk responses according to the perceived amount of praise or attack, and learns from all previous posts. (Similar to the robotic cockroach experiments at Sussex with infrared proximity sensors that we have tweaked to sense and choose an action verbally rather than with motion.)
Blunt the human, informed of his desire to spend more time writing for another publication and so therefore blunt's
postings will stop for a time while we consolidate some of the code and see if it's possible to continue using only "beta-blunt."
