NOTE TO BILL LEUDERS ABOUT MUSICIANS

Postby blunt » Thu Oct 23, 2008 3:40 pm

Musicians can't read.
Not even music.
And especially politics.
None of them saw your blurb about the city 's need for hold music.
(Hell, I barely saw it and my finger is so firmly on our pulse that Madison may faint. But then, I'm not merely a musician-- I'm like Obama, who is like Sammy Davis , Jr: an all-around performer.)
One glance at TDP shows musicans rarely stray form the two music sections.
Maybe next time you've got a music story it might be better to hand it off to Laskin or Burns for the Music Section.

You'll also notice by now:
2 weeks have gone by and not a single mention of this in the Music area nor a reply from any musicians here in this area.

Case closed.

There was, I believe, a letter to the editor in a recent issue. The author, a musician, made clear that offering uncompensated copyrighted music to the city was a somewhat noisome proposition as far as he was concerned.

So I'd wager that failure to market the project online was only one problem.

Maybe we read it and it sounded like we were once again being asked to "go all the way" with out even getting dinner bought for us first.

And really who wants to be known as the music frustrated callers get to hear?

It the same ol' "it's good exposure" bullshit.

Seriously the city ought to just PAY Blunt to write 'em some hold music if that's what they need. I'm sure the phone company ain't doing their part for the "good will" or "exposure".

You're right. Out of a couple thousand musicians, one who no one has ever heard of wrote in wanting money.
