I like "Tell All"

Phooey on the recent letters saying they don't like the Tell All column. I enjoy it and think it's a nice upgrade from Mr Right. i hope you keep the advice column.

Excuse my tech-challenged-ness, but is that column on the Daily Page somewhere? Or just in the paper paper?

Please, just take it out. All it does is remind me that there used to be a useful and witty advice column in your paper. Your Tell All is neither.

Maybe it would have been better had you waited a year or so to introduce it, the limited gap only served to invite comparisons.

My suggestion: Remove Tell All and the video game reviews (The Onion's reviews of the exact same games two weeks in a row made it obvious that theirs are superior) and use the space to bring back The Straight Dope.

I most definitely spend less time perusing each issue (and by extension, the ads) since the Dope was dropped. [insert joke here]

Count me in as a Tell-All fan as well.
It's refreshing to read an advice column that gets to the advice instead of a windbag who goes on and on about his Aunt Martha's toe problem, or about the time he and his sister did a road trip together to New York while all the time singing 80's love songs.
And where was the Mr. Right advice?
Oh yeah.
It's somewhere in there in the last sentance.
It's certainly not anywhere in the previous paragrahps where he went on ad nauseum about himself.

Interesting question this week followed by laughable advice.

I used to read the "Say Anything" column out of my sister's YM magazines.

"Tell All" just has a forced, fake feel to it. Not sure what it is. With most advice columns, I can usually convince myself to suspend disbelief and go along as though it was a real request for advice received by a real person. I know this may or may not be the case depending on what I'm reading, but for some reason, I can't get into "Tell All." The questions seem either completely irrelevant or completely outlandish. And the responses are pat and throwaway. Sorry, KidCapitol, but I read such columns first to be entertained and second to maybe, occasionally, retain a little useful information. To me, anecdotal evidence or a rambling response is welcome as long as it's well-written.

I hesitate to post this because I know at least 3 of my friends applied to take over the column when Isthmus posted the job, all fully realizing they'd have to cloud their identity in secrecy if they got hired. So... take this with a grain of salt as it was intended: constructive criticism.
