How did you vote on Willy St's 2nd Site

Grocery stores, recipes, cook books, CSAs, farmers' markets, organic, local, processed, corporate. It's a smorgabord!

Should management get a $50K+ blank check

I predict that it passes by a 70-30 split that disappoints both sides.

It'll pass by more than 70%. I'd be willing to bet it will be 90% or more in favor.

Opponents have been surprisingly vocal, but I predict it will pass by a closer margin than Conventional Wisdom would predict. I voted Yes

Most of the management seems to be in favor of it. I usually don't like to simply defer to authority, but in this case I have to assume they know a lot more about the issue than I do. And I don't see myself investing the time needed to change that situation; I voted yes.

We need another place for out-of-touch hippies to complain about parking and food they don't like?

I dropped off my Yes vote at about 5:30. They'd've been fine without it, considering the final tally was 17 to 1 in favor: 2557 Yes, 147 No.

I am hopeful that the co-op members who comprise the overpaid yuppie demographic will collectively experience the following emotional arc in preparation for the new store (after which time, their psychiatrists will collectively offer the newest drug to mask whatever trendy affective disorder they are dealing with):

happy

dissappointed

whiney

hopeful

quizzical

cynical

bewildered

thankful

neutral

Approximately 19% of the "owners" voted.

I didn't vote either...I would have liked to at least know what some of the proposed locations were before voting.

My (selfish) perspective - if it's within close walking distance I'd vote yes, if not, I'd vote no.

Hope the thinking is to fill the void left downtown when Mifflin shut it's doors and provide a viable alternative to Cap Center foods.

Someone out there has to know what locations they are looking at...c'mon give us a hint!
