I was just there, for breakfast, Sunday morning. I wonder if this means, no more breakfast?

For me, at least, this is a plus. I only went to Cleveland's once because I could never get in and it always seemed that they closed before I got out of the house in the, ahem, afternoon. But I love Greek food -- and hey! No Orange Guy with my spanakopita! Everybody wins!

It must be five months later, 'cause there's skrattypants!

Cleveland's has been one of those places I've wanted to try, but never put in the effort to find it/get there.

Incidentally, the same is true of Atlantis Taverna.

The Greek-owned Cleveland's has always been an ersatz attempt at carrying on the torch from the grumpy original genius.
(Quick wax nostalgic: Cattleprod being interviewed whilst eating the best greasiest morning chow ever on WORT, beaming LIVE from....Clevelands.)
So I think it's wonderful that they are finally doing what it seems they've always wanted to do:
Doing what they want to do.

Cleveland's is less than a block away from where I live. I eat breakfast there on average a couple of times a month. This change is one less reason to continue to live downtown.

Malted waffles?? I've never heard of such a thing, but it's brilliant! Ooh, baby! I can even imagine small wedges served alongside a single-malt, late in the evening. Beautiful.
(With any luck, it will supplant the prevailing lardo fashion that American chefs have cottoned to.)

Likewise. I can't see buying an expensive latte and a super sweet pastry and calling that breakfast.

Maybe Bourbon St. is winning.

One less place to have brekkie downtown(and lunch).

How are they going to manage outdoor seating there? There's barely enough room to walk as it is, not that that usually stops the city here.

Maybe they're expanding to the lot next door. Yep, no breakfast, is making the Isthmus less and less attractive to me. It takes more than a couple of dirty lakes. And if some hoity toity place takes up brunch, you betcha, they're going to charge a hoity toity price for it, just like the lattes. I smell gentrification!

Maybe it's just the stank of the dirty lakes.
