I am donating one of the bodies to science.

Talked to a guy at the plant pathology lab at UW Extension. He said he's only seen one other case in all of Wisconsin, and he wanted a sample of mine to see if it is the same fungus. I put one in a body bag and it is in my fridge until my wife can drop it off on her way to work on Friday.

Ouch.

I just finished mixing up my first successful batch of pesto after one failed attempt, and then I sit down to see this. Sorry for your loss.

I've been lucky this year. Last year I lost both potato hills. All that work for a handful of itty bitty potatoes.

I'm still singing the blues...

It was confirmed today by the plant pathology lab that we have only the second confirmed case of basil downy mildew in the entire state. Aren't we lucky...

T-Bot picked me some basil (and sage) from their garden the other night. I was looking down and suddenly smell that incredibly sweet aroma of fresh basil, look up and there's T with a handful for me. Made sausages & peppers with it.

Sorry for your loss, Michael. Unlucky for sure.
