I went to Sardine for brunch today for the first time and had one of those food shocker experiences -- could it really be this good? Should I order another setup right now? I speak of the crab, bacon and rock shrimp cakes with chipolte beurre blanc ($17).
The cakes arrived fast, hot and burger-shaped with a great panko crunch. The melted chile butter, combined with the shellfish and bacon note, give this dish incredible depth. It came with a nice salad of fresh corn, baby tomatoes, green beans and greens, and two eggs. I ordered them over easy and put them on the salad.
Any other fish cake rivals out there?
