You people need to stop worrying about Sheppy and start eating some friggin' tacos. I'm thinking of running for mayor and here is my platform...

* Madison does not need a taco density plan - it needs more tacos.
* I will accept federal funding to build more taco stands/taco restaurants/etc.
* Taco fixings will no longer be taxed in any way, shape or form.
* Anyone referring to ANY style or type of taco as a "trend" will receive a small fine.
* Local restaurants need to stop putting their online menus in PDF format.

Stay tuned for my press conference next week, where I unveil my "7-Layer Commitment To Madison".

(Sneak Peak - my "soft shell" proposals will focus on ending hunger while my "hard shell" proposals will crack down on downtown landlords.)

OK, I wanted to spill a little more on my campaign...

* Official campaign song - "Puttin' On The Ritz"
* Official charity that we'll donate any left over campaign funds to - The fight against transfusion associated circulatory overload.
* Education Reform - public schools will start offering fourth meal programs for disadvantaged students (K-8)
* Campaign HQ - 1033 S. Park

My vote goes to TACO!

Just to add my 2 cents...

Tex Tubb's - rather bad Tex Mex; I hate paying for bland, self-serve salsa, and their beans and rice aren't good, so side dishes are out.
Pasqual's - bills self as New Mexican, but isn't like anything I had on my few visits to NM; still has some tasty food, just not as spicy as I'd like.
Laredo's - good, cheap, and great service - I love that I've got chips, salsa and a drink within 30 seconds of arriving.
La Mestiza - very yummy and authentic Mexican!
Taqueria Guadalajara - also yummy and cheap - I need to go there more often.

I know it's my Dallas origins, but there's a special place in my belly for Abuelo's food, too - Tex Mex done well, and another place where I can have chips, salsa and a drink within 30 seconds of arrival. I don't know why Tubb's can't manage it.

Of course being a vegetarian limits some of my options, so YMMV.

Anyone going to talk about Burrito Drive? Interesting, but not really my bag...

And what about La Hacienda? Their tostadas are my favorite.

There is no such thing as enough tacos. I could eat tacos at every meal.

That's not Texas style Frito Pie - it's just fancy walking tacos.
