Speaking of which, is Karl still in jail in Chicago after having been caught carrying a very large amount of cash in a camper? I haven't heard a thing since the initial news.

Does/did he still own Loose Juice?

Runners World does that a lot. It is irritating.

So Karl Armstrong was arrested for having a large amount of heat-sealed cash that reportedly smelled like pot?

Not the first time. The first time he was arrested for causing massive destruction of Sterling Hall and murdering Robert Fassnacht with a bomb. The bomb also injured Paul Quin, David Schuster, and Norbert Sutler. "Schuster, a South African graduate student, was the most seriously injured of the three, suffering a broken shoulder, fractured ribs and a broken eardrum; he was buried in the rubble for three hours before being rescued by firefighters. Quin, a postdoctoral physics researcher, and Sutler, a university security officer, suffered cuts from shattered glass and bruises."

I've never seen Loose Juice included on Isthmus' Eats list. But I could be wrong.

Madison street vending coordinator Warren Hansen isn't sure which came first — Madison's food cart regulations or the first food cart. What is certain is the first on the scene was Loose Juice in 1976. Hansen says he hasn't had contact with Loose Juice for the last two years, but 1976-2010 is a pretty good run. Another cart from the early 1980s brought Tibetan food to Madison, later becoming the restaurant Himal Chuli, which still serves up momos and more on State Street.

Meade thought maybe I was talking about my other Karl friend, Karl Marx, who also ran a juice cart back in the day. Being part of the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, the business was eventually liberated by the proletarians.

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. Meade, who is suffering from false consciousness, needs a group hug.
