Anybody else go?
It was a bit overwhelming and a bit of a madhouse. But the cheeses? Wow.
We were especially interested in ripened cheeses, and our impression was that Quebec seems exceptionally strong in this domain, especially in non-cow. A few notable Ontario cheeses, too. We missed the Jasper Hill (VT) semi-soft that won Best of Show. (I like that Bleu Mont tied with Bleu Mont for 3rd place. That should assuage any sibling rivalry.)
The range of sheep/goat cheeses was really nice to see. We kind of got trapped in that neck of the woods.
One big disappointment: the bar served only bad generic spigot wines. (Served from a bottle, but still). The beer selection was pretty anemic, too. The implied message is "wine is wine is wine ..." At least there's no doubt the cheese had character, but it missed it's natural accompaniment(s).Results
