After taking a week off so some weekly newspaper could host a festival celebrating that other idigenous American music, Cork 'n Bottle String Band return to the UW Memorial Union Terrace on June 14 for their regular Thursday evening show.

The band will play every Thursday* from 6-8PM through the end of August and there is never a cover charge. The Rathskeller is the rain location.

*Thursday, June 28 - SpareTime Bluegrass will fill in while various members of CBSB undergo tummy tucks, eye jobs and male nipple enhancement procedures.

Cork 'n Bottle String Band: The Ken's Bar Story
is now available on DVD from CDBABY. There is a link from our web site http://www.bignew.com . Copies can also be purchased at the Cork 'n Bottle liquor store on E. Johnson Street and we'll soon make them available to local music stores.

It looks like a beautiful evening to be on the Terrace. We're going to quit a bit early and head up the street to see Chris Thile and Bryan Sutton, both are amazing players.

It's a great night for acoustic music in Madison. If you don't like free bluegrass or jaw dropping newgrass you can always check the Reptile Palace at the Brink or the sleeper gig of the week - Horse Feathers at Indie Coffee on Regent Street. Fans of Iron & Wine might dig them. Check them out online at http://www.myspace.com/horsefeathersmusic

Last week we has SpareTime Bluegrass fill in for us.

The week before that we got rained out after 1 set.

The week before that there were electrical problems causing us to start 45 minutes late.

Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise we'll be playing 2 sets tonight, outside, on the terrace. Praise it.
