A couple reviews of the new Hussy LP:

"...Not sure how the Hussy can flip gears and genres so smoothly; they transition seamlessly from song to song, alternating vocals from duo Bobby and Heather without hesitation. “FUDJe” and “The Moon Rules #1” wouldn’t be out of place on the most bombastic LP the Pixies never recorded. “Bang Bang” is mid-era Replacements sugar. “I Don’t Really Want To” just plain fucking rocks. Pardon my language, but it does.
Weed Seizure, besides being a genius name, is an excellent LP. Get it from Tic Tac Totally. Soon."

"...It’s hard to summarize this record - all the bands I’ve namechecked are reference points, but the Hussy are mostly in their own galaxy at this point. Though there’s elements of different sounds here, The Hussy are a great up-and-coming band who capture very well the sonic landscape of modern garage/punk/whatever, [and] they succeed very well in creating a record that’s utterly their own. Seriously, buy this now, or pay out the nose for it later - this won’t be leaving anybody’s collection any time soon."

AV CLUB MADISON
'A' Rating

"Since The Hussy’s nasty debut, Cement Tomb Mind Control, dropped last year, the Madisonian trash-rockers in the group have been busy further refining their vaunting hiss with prolific songwriting and some serious touring. Less than eight months later, the results are in: a blistering rock ’n’ roll jigsaw that’s aptly titled Weed Seizure. And beyond Seizure’s bonkers, cyber-psychedelic cover art is a refreshingly dynamic sophomore LP of blasting sonic rippers that yank the listener through drugged-out lows (“Bad Speed”), tunnels of Cramps-tinged swingers (“Feeling Dry”), and headfirst into the frantic, sassy garage punk we’ve come to expect from them.

From the time the hypnotic opening riff of “Undefined” chimes in, to the noisy conclusion of overdriven shuffler “Go Outside,” all of the meticulous layers of gritty, jangling guitar, feedback, and tape-manipulation let the listener forget that The Hussy’s just a duo. Of course, much of Seizure’s hugeness is conjured from Heather Hussy’s pounding drum lines and witty rhythmic hooks (like the percussive clicks preceding the filthy guitar solo of “Bad Speed,” or the perfectly placed tambourine hits in the unusually sugary power-pop of “Bang Bang”). The snotty cool of Bobby and Heather Hussy’s alternating vocal duties is still intact, but this time the lines seem to be getting even more melodic and thoughtful, while still maintaining some crude, garage-rock swagger. By the end of its no-nonsense 27 minutes, Weed Seizure shows off a huge new Hussy, one that’s more than ready to fight in the same ring as contemporary heavyweights like The Spits and The (now-defunct) Hunches."

Just got the jackets for the new Hussy 7" EP on Eradicator (Label sent em early to get us excited before they got the actual vinyl. Getting the raw vinyl in a couple of days from them).

The EP features a MIDWEST BEAT cover as well as three other jams!

It's also pressed on 4 different color vinyl options in varying limited editions. Red (Most Limited), Green, Yellow and Black (Least Limited)!

Check out 2 tunes from it here (including the Midwest Beat cover):
