Wed. 12/8: Last Band Standing 2004 at High Noon

Postby minicat » Thu Dec 02, 2004 9:49 am

With the New Recruits,
the Randy Cliffs,
the Motorz and
the Arkoffs
High Noon Saloon
701A E. Washington
12/8, 9:00 pm

So what if it's Wednesday? It's cold out ... come and have a drink (or x) and warm up with some local rock and roll!

The Arkoffs play occasionally to lukewarm response, unless the Platinum Angels Dance Squad is in the house. Come out early and shake it ... or just laugh at the band when some piece of 40-plus year old equipment loses parts or explodes mid-song.

The Motorz would like to guarantee that no audience members will be harmed by falling tower speaker cabinets. No, really. They mean it this time. The horror of SpeakerGate will not be repeated ... unless there are unforseen complications involving someone named Daniels.

The Randy Cliffs will sing songs about barbecuing, hayseeds, barbecuing hayseeds, tractor pulls and explain the correct type of hot sauce to use while the hayseed is on the fire. BYO marshmallows (and hayseeds) ...

The New Recruits ... well, by this point in the night, anything could happen; who knows how many drinks will have been consumed by the four bands in a Ken's Bar-style rampage. And you KNOW los Recruites will be bringing some Dave's Insanity Sauce. Will a member of the Motorz slam a shot from the bottle again?

You'll just have to be there to find out.

Memo to myself: Bring Insanity Sauce!

The Motorz would never forgive me if I dropped that ball ...

With four bands, it will probably start right at 9.

Hell, you could probably catch 2 1/2 bands and a raging case of monkey pox by 11.

What if I were to tell you I had prior knowledge of an impending train wreck? If I provided you the time and place, would you seek out a strategic vantage point from which to view the horrible spectacle? Or would you just shrug your shoulders, sit your ass home and wait to read about it in the paper?

This is not a theoretical question.

I've just been handed a memo that the Mansion Hill Inn will be having a Holiday Wine Tasting from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday as well.
$10 gets you 6 wines and assortment of fromage in hoity-toityville.

I'm thinking pre-party there would be a great idea.

"Hey, where's the Boone's Farm? Hellooooooooo!"

r.sv.p. at 268-8104 space is limited.

If I drink this "insanity sauce", will I be hallucinating in the desert with a dog that has the voice of Johnny Cash?

Well, from past evidence, we know you will be in the bathroom withyour head under the faucet. I think joshmotor was already hallucinating at the time he slammed the stuff, so whether that causes visions is up for debate.

PS.... boo Seger haters.

Josh Motor still denies that ever happened....either that or he doesn't remember it, which is possible. I think that was the night he destroyed the blinds on the little window at the back of the stage at the Anchor, got his stick caught and tore 'em right down. Sigh, memories. We never got to spray-paint our name on the wall, but they never did replace the blinds.

Bravo to Forons, once again showing disdain for Seger.
