Television Shows You Want To See Released On DVD

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Television Shows You Want To See Released On DVD

Postby MadMind » Fri Apr 20, 2007 6:22 pm

Have any Television shows you'd like to see released onto DVD which have been previously unavailable or only available on VHS?

I'd like to see the 70's live-action Spiderman television show be put onto DVD. Also, I'd like to see the 80's Spiderman cartoon put onto DVD.

I'd like to see the eighties Television series Werewolf be released on DVD.

Other than that, I'm sure there's plenty of cartoon's from the seventies & eighties that have never seen the light of day on DVD, although new releases keep popping up on a monthly basis.

This is where I would have complained about the non-availability of Twin Peaks season two, but since it's out ... I'm going to go with The Wonder Years.

Greatest Heroes of the Bible

Where else are you going to see Noah Beery Jr. as 'Mordecai?' Or Victoria Principal (!!!) as 'Queen Esther?'

"Save me, Baal!!!"

For once in my life I feel fully justified in saying this:

Holy Fuck.

I loved "Mannix" when I was a kid. Joe Mannix would go thru everything, car crashes, and come out with maybe just a scratch.

I was going to say "The F.B.I." with Efrem Zimbalist Jr., but I see it's already out.

But i don't buy tv shows.

Mannix was a great show; used to watch that all the time when I was a kid.

I got the first season of Mission: Impossible for Xmas this year. It has Steven Hill as Dan Briggs, before Mr. Phelps replaced him. Also has a lot of guest stars that you'd see all over the place on TV throughout the 70s. Most of the episodes are pretty good.

I see where The Prisoner is out on DVD, though I haven't seen it in the stores anywhere. Maybe they have it at Amazon. But I'm really waiting for Duckman.

Wow, funny you guys mentioned this. I was lookin' through this Sunday papers ads this afternoon when I came across something.
Season one is now on DVD. Amazon lists a release date of April 24th, 2007. You might wanna read the reviews though, some are rather upset at 20th century fox for changing the music, among other things.
At the time of me posting this there are already 115 reviews on Amazon.

I can't speak for Kenneth, but I was actually referring to how badly compromised the just-released first-season DVD set turned out to be.
