Shows you wish would come back

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Shows you wish would come back

Postby c02 » Thu May 26, 2011 1:18 pm

The "3 shows" thread made me a little nostalgic for past shows and thought it would be an interesting topic. I know many shows are now in syndication but it's not the same as getting new seasons every year.

The Unit - I loved that show and even the S.O. enjoyed it.

Chaos - If you blinked you missed it on Friday's. I think 3 episodes were aired before it was recently yanked. It was oddly funny in a "Body of Lies" kind of way. It was disappointing to hear it was cancelled so soon.

E.R. - Even in the later days it didn't seem to be slowing down. We were addicted to that show.

The Riches. -Eddie Izzard was great and this show had a lot of "Big Love-esque" tension. A brief late second season due to the writers strike doomed it though.

Arrested Development. -Duh.

Still miss The Sopranos and Seinfeld.

Anyone remember NBC's "Must See TV" Thursday night block? Some years were better than others, but the mid-80s and mid-90s seem to have been the cream of the crop:

Shows I need more of:

1. Pulling
2. The IT Crowd (I'd even take a redux of the failed US version)

Since my obsession of filling the 13 old boy demographic for BBC Comedy shows need to be filled.

and
3. Party Down

In case you haven't seen it, the fourth season recently became available on Netflix instant. The "Countdown" episode is incredible.
