Golf on TV

How can cultural elitists like ourselves put TV in the Culture category? Well, where the hell else is it going to fit?

Golf on TV

Kenneth Burns pens a fine article.

I plan on watching today. In case you haven't heard..

He's baaaaaaccckkk

Okay maybe not back, but in the hunt at least. I couldn't stand Tiger when he was on top but at least he had some magnetism. Rory Mcilroy has that too.

Agree with K. Burns on Sabatini - he comes off as a punk. My favorite player to mock lately is Keegan Bradley. He plays likes a glacier and that right eye thing he does on putts is over the top funny.

I'm not gay but I do recognize handsome men when I see them. Besides K. B.'s favorites there's Ian Poulter, and of course Spiderman:

I enjoyed the article too. I tend to watch more when I have a rooting interest, which is mostly Steve Stricker. Unfortunately for my rooting habits, he has pared down his schedule quite a bit to spend time with his family. Which is part of why I root for the guy.

It helps that I golf. Before I took up the game, I thought watching it was a complete waste of time.

Thanks for the kind words. Villegas is definitely a contender. 2012 may be the third year in a row that I vow to drive to Silvis, Ill., to watch Stricker in the John Deere, then skip it.

Keep in mind this year's Ryder Cup is at Medinah CC, just outside of Schaumburg.

Our National Championship is this weekend, in San Francisco.

Tiger is right up there.

Love watching the US Open as it brings the pros to their knees.

Only thing missing this year is the traditional god awful heat.

I hope I get to tune in! I'm suddenly incredibly busy what with my impending departure.

Thanks, John. The UT marching band playing "Rocky Top" gets the blood pumping.
