Mysteriously, I received this email today...

Lawton & Cates, s.c.

is pleased to announce

Peggy A. Lautenschlager

and

Daniel P. Bach

have joined the firm.

They will concentrate their practices in the areas of class actions, anti-trust, consumer fraud, employment litigation, labor union advocacy, environmental matters, government relations, public policy advocacy, criminal defense, and mediations.

Peg Lautenschlager

Prior to her tenure as Wisconsin Attorney General, Peg Lautenschlager served as a United States Attorney, a state legislator, and a district attorney. She has earned recognition for her work in consumer protection, health care issues, environmental litigation and workers' rights.

Daniel Bach

Prior to his tenure as Wisconsin Deputy Attorney General, Daniel Bach served as a federal prosecutor for fourteen years and was an attorney in private practice. He has earned recognition for his work as a litigator in high profile civil and criminal matters.

Lawton & Cates, s.c.

John A. Lawton and Richard L. Cates formed a partnership in 1958. John Lawton was actively involved with labor law and union work. Dick Cates established the litigation practice.

Through the years, lawyers at Lawton & Cates have tried nearly every conceivable type of dispute in nearly every forum. There are very few areas of substantive law in which the firm's lawyers have not worked. Injuries caused by automobiles or defective products, medical malpractice, toxic chemical exposures, environmental litigation, insurance coverage issues, criminal proceedings, business, tax, family law and employment disputes are just some of the firm's practice areas.

The mission of the firm is to provide legal guidance in an ethical and socially responsible manner with honesty and excellence, while emphasizing the human dignity of our clients, our staff and the community.

What's so mysterious about a press release announcing that a former AG and deputy have gone to work at a leading law firm?
