Does this count as suppression or just outright fraud? http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/e ... mes-okeefe

Lawrence, I'm really having trouble understanding your point here.

But to answer your question, "yes."

I also think there's a big difference between widespread, systematic, nationwide, coordinated, officially sanctioned voter suppression efforts (GOP) and one stupid campaign worker/candidate relative who shot his mouth off and got canned.

Furthermore, Stu, keep in mind that you're dealing with James O'Keefe here. He probably spent the last twelve months surreptitiously recording campaign workers until he found one that would take the bait. He then carefully edited the video to make it seem as bad as possible and declared that he had uncovered a vast conspiracy to commit voter fraud.

His modus operandi is basically to be a sleezy, dishonest propagandist. Kinda like Meade.

This is a hoot. I'd like to see it happen.

A handful of international election monitors have touched down in the US to swing by polling places next month when voters cast ballots for the president, but officials in the state of Texas have issued them a warning: you’re not welcome.
State Attorney General Greg Abbott has sent a scathing letter to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, threatening to arrest any of the election auditors that have been dispatched to America to ensure that voters won’t be disenfranchised, discriminated against or intimidated when they take to the polls on November 6.

More 'job creators' trying to pressure their employees
The past 4 years with President Obama, trying to lead and represent us, has been a complete failure," wrote company president Jack DeWitt in the newsletter.

How bad is it?
Holland Township Supervisor Terry Nienhuis said the Great Recession appeared to be a boom time for Request Foods. "They are going strong," he told The Huffington Post. "They didn't seem to be affected by it at all. In fact, I think that was one of their strongest growing periods. Yeah, they're doing well. They are providing very important jobs for people who are having difficulty finding employment."

Wow, harsh. Is Obama directly responsible for this 'complete failure'?
With the help from taxpayer money, Request was able to add at least 250 jobs.

Meanwhile, here in Wisconsin:
In an email sent this week to employees, White said his workers "should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama's future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government."

State law may prohibit email such as the one White sent to employees. The law states: "No employer or agent of an employer may distribute to any employee printed matter containing any threat, notice or information that if a particular ticket of a political party or organization or candidate is elected or any referendum question is adopted or rejected, work in the employer's place or establishment will cease, in whole or in part, or the place or establishment will be closed, or the salaries or wages of the employees will be reduced, or other threats intended to influence the political opinions or actions of the employees."

I'm sure they're just trying to be good citizens:
Documents from a recent Romney poll watcher training obtained by ThinkProgress contain several misleading or untrue claims about the rights of Wisconsin voters. A source passed along the following packet of documents, which was distributed to volunteers at a Romney campaign training in Racine on October 25th. In total, eight such trainings were held across the state in the past two weeks and 17 since late September.
...
The training also encouraged volunteers to deceive election workers and the public about who they were associated with.

I wonder what affiliation code words they'll use now, since "concerned citizen" is going to trigger a whole lot of "Oh, of COURSE you are. wink wink, nudge nudge" reactions.

The packet does say that the campaign and party “do not and will not tolerate any voter intimidation or suppression,” and that no one “should
interfere with any individual’s right to legally cast a vote.”

Wink, wink. Do you even find ANY of this suspicious. Why I'm asking, I don't even know.

By the way, why is either party "training" people for the polls. It should be done by the local authorities.
